Fairytale Fashion

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

So I was in love when I saw the name. Then I read about it and I was intrigued even more. Double whammy. The Fairytale Fashion Collection uses technology to create “magical” clothing.

Using technology to turn make-believe into reality

Spearheaded by Diana Eng (remember her on Project Runway Season 2, the “fashion nerd”?), the collection is an experiment in interactive wearable technology, fashion, and social media. The possibilities in clothing are immense, and this collection proves that fun, playful and beautiful fashion can intersect with technology and science. (Click to learn more about the technologies and pieces). There are 12 episodes to watch, each week being an introduction to a wearable technology, with the final being the fashion show showcasing the clothes in the collection.

The whole goal was to explore and challenge preconceived notions of fashion and inspire kids to better bridge the disparity between fashion and science. That’s pretty cool, right?
